TOTAL's approach to health and safety is based on an idea of personal commitment and individual empowerment. We believe everyone has a right to return home safely at the end of the day and a duty to take care of themselves and those around them.

Senior management understands that to have the highest level of performance we must engage with, influence and care for all those who come into contact with us, from family through to members of the public.

We are continually launching new initiatives, whilst improving existing ones, along with implementing cultural change through communication and training. We believe communication and training is critical to creating the conditions for a zero accident environment.

One of our key aims is to encourage a culture of care and mutual respect by strengthening relationships between senior management, workforce and sub-contractors.

The Senior Management Team continue to monitor the Health and Safety Policy for effectiveness and compliance on an ongoing basis.
